ASTRONOMY

/as·tron·o·my/
singular feminine

The study of objects and matter outside the earth's atmosphere and of their physical and chemical properties.

The science that studies the celestial bodies. It considers their distribution, their motions and the laws that govern them, their characteristics, their dimensions, their nature, their physical conditions, their mutual actions and finally tries to establish their past and their probable future. It is necessary to distinguish very well astronomy from the pseudo-science of astrology, based on the erroneous assumption that our human affairs are predetermined by celestial bodies, and that therefore the study of these can serve to predict the future.

ABOUT

A site about astronomy, a site about teaching, a site about Science, with a capital S. In a world where people tend to have so many doubts and are often misled by fake news on social media with so much fear of knowing the truth, I want to propose a place of "scientific relaxation", where to find information and knowledge, where to turn for help. The theme is obviously ASTRONOMY, an ancient science, the first science that man has faced, studied, observed. Because raising your eyes to the sky and being amazed by the Moon, by the stars of the Milky Way, by the whirling rotation of the Galilean satellites of Jupiter around the gas giant, is not only a joy but a right for everyone. And everyone can get close to these wonders, in a simple and intuitive way. Try to browse the various menu items: you will find images, stories, articles and training proposals, for all ages and for all levels. The site is new, so be patient and let us grow, every week you will find something new and captivating but always immersed in the infinite sky that amazes us more every day.

ALLSKY

The sky above Trento. It's called AllSky, it's a site that continuously photographs the sky at latitude 46 ° 03'20.7 "N and Longitude 11 ° 07'28.3" E.
I created it specifically to keep our sky in check,
even when we are not "at home". For amateur amateur astronomers and also for professional astronomers it is useful for photographing meteor showers and any fireballs that may fall nearby.
It is also equipped with an archive section, with many videos of the past nights and a weather section, to check temperatures, pressure, satellite photographs and local radar.
Here on the right the last image taken from the camera.

News from the world of astronomy, science and space

The Perseverance rover continues to amaze us. Every day NASA sends images, videos and even the first sounds from the planet Mars. The Mars 2020 Perseverance rover will investigate a region of Mars where the ancient environment may have been conducive to microbial life, probing Martian rocks for evidence of past life.
